We met with Michael Drax, from the UK. Michael is a UG Arabic alumni studying for Arabic and History at the University of Edinburgh. In an interview with Michael, we asked him the following questions:

Tell us about yourself

My name is Michael Drax and I am a 4th year undergraduate student of Arabic and History.

What made you decide to study the Arabic language and culture?  What & who inspired you?  What were your motivations?

I decided to study Arabic because I was amazed by the complexity and depth of the language, which paled in comparison to other romance languages that I had studied and so I thought that here is a language that I will most certainly need at least 4 years of study to get a grasp on (still waiting for that feeling…)!
